1. Acceptance of these terms
By using saemsawards.co.za, submitting a nomination or enquiry, or otherwise interacting with the online SA EMS Awards programme, you agree to these Terms & Conditions to the extent applicable to your use.
2. About the programme
SA EMS Awards (Pty) Ltd operates a national recognition platform for excellence in emergency medical services. Information on this website is provided for programme, nomination, partnership and general information purposes.
3. Nominations
- A nomination is an application for consideration and does not guarantee eligibility, shortlisting, finalist status or an award.
- SA EMS Awards may request further information, references, proof, consent or verification.
- We may reject, pause or remove a nomination that is incomplete, misleading, abusive, unlawful, duplicative or inconsistent with published criteria or programme integrity.
- Category names, criteria, dates, judging arrangements and programme stages may be reasonably amended where necessary.
4. Accuracy and authority
You must provide information that you reasonably believe to be accurate. When providing information, photographs, documents or other material about another person or organisation, you are responsible for ensuring that you have a lawful basis or authority to provide it.
5. Patient confidentiality and sensitive material
Do not submit unnecessary patient identifiers, medical records, confidential clinical records, identity numbers or identifiable patient photographs. SA EMS Awards may redact, restrict, return or delete sensitive material that should not have been submitted.
6. Supporting content and intellectual property
You retain ownership of material you own. By submitting content, you grant SA EMS Awards a non-exclusive permission to store, reproduce internally, review and use it as reasonably necessary to administer, verify and judge the nomination and communicate with relevant parties.
Where public publication of a photograph, detailed story or copyrighted material requires additional permission, we may request appropriate consent, licence or confirmation before publishing it.
7. Judging and programme integrity
Judging and verification processes may involve human judgment and category criteria. Sponsors or partners do not automatically receive decision-making authority or access to nomination information merely because they support the programme.
8. No purchase of recognition
Unless a specific lawful programme offering clearly states otherwise, awards recognition is not sold. Sponsorship, partnership or commercial support does not guarantee nomination, finalist status, favourable judging or an award.
9. Website availability
We aim to keep the website available and accurate but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation or that all information will always be current.
10. External links and third-party services
Links to third-party websites, platforms or service providers are provided for convenience and do not automatically constitute endorsement.
11. Prohibited use
You may not misuse the website, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with security, submit malicious code, impersonate another person, knowingly provide false information, or use the awards platform for unlawful, defamatory, discriminatory, fraudulent or abusive purposes.
12. Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, POPIA Notice and Cookie Policy.
13. Events, dates and changes
If the programme includes ceremonies, announcements, campaigns or events, dates, venues, formats, speakers, categories or programme elements may change where reasonably necessary.
14. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, SA EMS Awards is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising solely from use of the website, reliance on general website information, third-party services or unsuccessful nominations. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute will be dealt with by a court or forum having lawful jurisdiction, subject to mandatory statutory rights.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect programme, website, legal or operational changes. The current version is the version published on this page.
